विमानन नियामक नागर विमानन महानिदेशालय (डीजीसीए) ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय राजधानी से श्रीनगर जा रहे इंडिगो विमान के चालक दल के सदस्यों ने बुधवार को खराब मौसम से बचने के लिए पाकिस्तान हवाई क्षेत्र में प्रवेश का अनुरोध किया था, जिसे अस्वीकार कर दिया गया। घटना के बारे में विस्तृत बयान में डीजीसीए ने कहा कि विमान में सवार किसी भी यात्री को कोई चोट नहीं आई है तथा विमान का आगे का हिस्सा नोज रेडोम क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया है। डीजीसीए विमान के खराब मौसम की चपेट में आने की घटना की जांच कर रहा है। डीजीसीए ने बताया कि चालक दल के बयान के अनुसार उन्होंने मार्ग पर खराब मौसम के कारण वायुसेना के उत्तरी नियंत्रण (आईएएफ) से बाईं ओर (अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा) जाने का अनुरोध किया था, हालांकि इसे मंजूरी नहीं दी गई।
