अब लंबे इंतजार के बाद कश्मीर घाटी को अपनी पहली ट्रेन सेवा मिलने जा रही है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 19 अप्रैल को कटरा से श्रीनगर के लिए पहली ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखा सकते हैं। सूत्रों ने बताया कि उद्घाटन ट्रेन एक विशेष वंदे भारत ट्रेन होगी।
कश्मीर में रेलवे परियोजना: भारतीय रेलवे (आईआर) ने देश के दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों को जोड़ने और सुचारू ट्रेन संचालन स्थापित करने के लिए कई परियोजनाएं शुरू की हैं। इसके लिए, राष्ट्रीय ट्रांसपोर्टर ने नई रेल लाइनों के निर्माण और सर्वेक्षण, रेल पटरियों के दोहरीकरण और नवीनीकरण, रेलवे स्टेशनों के पुनर्विकास और ट्रेनों की शुरूआत और विस्तार सहित कई परियोजनाओं को मंजूरी दी है। अब लंबे इंतजार के बाद कश्मीर घाटी को अपनी पहली ट्रेन सेवा मिलने जा रही है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 19 अप्रैल को कटरा से श्रीनगर के लिए पहली ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखा सकते हैं। सूत्रों ने बताया कि उद्घाटन ट्रेन एक विशेष वंदे भारत ट्रेन होगी। सूत्रों का कहना है कि उद्घाटन ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाने के अलावा, पीएम मोदी दुनिया के सबसे ऊंचे चिनाब रेल पुल का दौरा भी करेंगे और उसी दिन कटरा में एक जनसभा को संबोधित करेंगे।
पीएम मोदी के साथ रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव, केंद्रीय मंत्री डॉ. जितेंद्र सिंह, जम्मू-कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा और जम्मू-कश्मीर के मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला सहित अन्य शीर्ष राजनीतिक हस्तियां और अधिकारी भी इस कार्यक्रम में मौजूद रहेंगे। शुरुआत में, ट्रेन कटरा और श्रीनगर/बारामुल्ला के बीच चलने की संभावना है। सूत्रों ने बताया कि अगस्त से, जब जम्मू रेलवे स्टेशन पर विस्तार कार्य पूरा हो जाएगा, तो ट्रेन जम्मू से श्रीनगर/बारामुल्ला के बीच चलने की उम्मीद है। हालाँकि, अभी दिल्ली से श्रीनगर के लिए कोई सीधी ट्रेन सेवा नहीं होगी।
इसके अलावा कश्मीर में रेल मंत्रालय ने प्रतिष्ठित उधमपुर-श्रीनगर-बारामुल्ला रेल लिंक (USBRL) परियोजना पूरी कर ली है। इस महत्वाकांक्षी रेल परियोजना को ‘राष्ट्रीय परियोजना’ का दर्जा दिया गया है। दिसंबर 2024 में, रेलवे ने USBRL प्रोजेक्ट के तहत जम्मू और कश्मीर (J&K) में 272 किलोमीटर नई रेलवे लाइन बिछाने का काम पूरा कर लिया है। USBRL प्रोजेक्ट जम्मू और कश्मीर के उधमपुर, रियासी, रामबन, श्रीनगर, अनंतनाग, पुलवामा, बडगाम और बारामुल्ला जिलों को कवर करता है।
