बेंगलुरु । दिल्ली कैपिटल्स ने शानदार गेंदबाजी के बाद जेस जोनासेन (नाबाद 61 रन) के अर्धशतक की मदद से मंगलवार को यहां महिला प्रीमियर लीग (डब्ल्यूपीएल) मुकाबले में गुजरात जायंट्स को 29 गेंद रहते छह विकेट से शिकस्त दी। टॉस जीतकर क्षेत्ररक्षण करने वाली दिल्ली कैपिटल्स ने शानदार गेंदबाजी की और गुजरात जायंट्स का शीर्ष क्रम ध्वस्त कर उसे महज नौ विकेट पर 127 रन बनाने दिए। फिर कप्तान मेग लैनिंग की टीम ने 15.1 ओवर में चार विकेट पर 131 रन बनाकर जीत दर्ज की जिसमें जोनासेन ने 32 गेंद की नाबाद पारी के दौरान नौ चौके और दो छक्के जमाये।
उनके अलावा सलामी बल्लेबाज शेफाली वर्मा ने 27 गेंद में पांच चौके और तीन छक्के से 44 रन का योगदान दिया। जोनासेन और शेफाली ने दूसरे विकेट के लिए 37 गेंद में 74 रन की साझेदारी निभाई। इस जीत से दिल्ली कैपिटल्स की टीम छह अंक लेकर तालिका में शीर्ष पर पहुंच गई। इससे पहले भारती फूलमाली ने नाबाद 40 रन की पारी खेलकर खराब शुरुआत करने वाली गुजरात जायंट्स को नौ विकेट पर 127 रन पर पहुंचाने में मदद की। दिल्ली कैपिटल्स के लिए शिखा पांडे, मारिजाने काप और एनाबेल सदरलैंड ने दो दो विकेट हासिल किए।
गुजरात जायंट्स ने 60 रन पर छह विकेट गंवा दिए थे जिसके बाद आठवें नंबर पर बल्लेबाजी कर रही फूलमाली ने 29 गेंद में दो छक्के और चार चौके लगाकर टीम को 100 रन तक पहुंचाने में मदद की। डायंड्रा डॉटिन (26) ने पारी की शुरुआत में पांच चौके लगाए लेकिन दिल्ली कैपिटल्स के गेंदबाजों के एकजुट प्रदर्शन के कारण वह पारी को आगे नहीं बढ़ा सकीं। दिल्ली की तेज गेंदबाज मारिजाने काप (17 रन देकर दो विकेट) और शिखा पांडे (18 रन देकर दो विकेट) ने जायंट्स के शीर्ष क्रम को ध्वस्त कर दिया जिससे पावरप्ले के अंदर उनका स्कोर चार विकेट पर 20 रन हो गया। पिच पर गेंदबाजों के लिए उछाल मौजूद था।
मारिजाने की गेंद पर हरलीन देओल (05) बल्ले का बाहरी किनारा लगा कर विकेट गंवा बैठी और फिर इस गेंदबाज ने फोबे लिचफील्ड को शून्य पर आउट कर दिया। चौथे ओवर में शिखा पांडे ने बेथ मूनी (10) और काशवी गौतम को एक ही अंदाज में आउट कर दिया। दोनों बल्लेबाजो को उन्होंने क्रमशः डीप बैकवर्ड स्क्वायर लेग और डीप मिडविकेट पर निकी प्रसाद के हाथों कैच कराया। इसके बाद टिटास साधु ने जायंट्स की कप्तान एश्ले गार्डनर (03) के रूप में टीम को पांचवां विकेट दिलाया और एनाबेल सदरलैंड (20 रन देकर दो विकेट) ने 11वें ओवर में डॉटिन को आउट कर दिया। तनुजा कंवर 16 रन बनाकर रन आउट हुईं।
