बेंगलुरु में निर्वाचित प्रतिनिधियों के लिए एक विशेष अदालत के निर्देश के बाद सितंबर 2024 में शुरू की गई लोकायुक्त जांच का नेतृत्व मैसूर लोकायुक्त के पुलिस अधीक्षक टीजे उदेश ने किया था। अधिकारियों ने नौकरशाहों, राजनेताओं, सेवानिवृत्त अधिकारियों, मुदा अधिकारियों और सिद्धारमैया, उनकी पत्नी बीएम पार्वती और बहनोई बीएम मल्लिकार्जुन स्वामी जैसे प्रमुख लोगों सहित 100 से अधिक लोगों से पूछताछ की थी। उनके बयानों को वीडियो रिकॉर्ड किया गया और अंतिम रिपोर्ट में दर्ज किया गया। सूत्रों ने बताया कि कुल मिलाकर, विवादित संपत्ति, साइट आवंटन और अधिसूचना प्रक्रियाओं से संबंधित 3,000 से अधिक पृष्ठों के दस्तावेजों का अध्ययन किया गया।
लोकायुक्त पुलिस ने कहा कि एमयूडीए मामले में कर्नाटक के सीएम सिद्धारमैया, उनकी पत्नी और अन्य के खिलाफ कोई सबूत नहीं है। लोकायुता पुलिस द्वारा यह स्वीकारोक्ति एजेंसी द्वारा जांच के लिए बेंगलुरु स्थित अपने मुख्यालय को अंतिम रिपोर्ट सौंपने के लगभग एक सप्ताह बाद आई है। यह रिपोर्ट सीएम सिद्धारमैया और उनके परिवार से जुड़े मैसूर शहरी विकास प्राधिकरण (मुडा) साइट आवंटन मामले की 138 दिनों की व्यापक जांच के बाद प्रस्तुत की गई थी।

विशेष अदालत ने पिछले साल 27 सितंबर को सिद्धारमैया और तीन अन्य के खिलाफ एफआईआर का निर्देश दिया था, जो कि राज्यपाल थावर चंद गहलोत द्वारा सिद्धारमैया की जांच की अनुमति देने के बाद सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता स्नेहमयी कृष्णा की याचिका पर आधारित थी। कर्नाटक हाई कोर्ट ने राज्यपाल के फैसले को बरकरार रखा। जांच में आईपीसी, भ्रष्टाचार निवारण अधिनियम, बेनामी संपत्ति लेनदेन निषेध अधिनियम और कर्नाटक भूमि कब्जा निषेध अधिनियम के तहत कथित उल्लंघन शामिल हैं।
