राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग ने आज चुनाव प्रचार समाप्त होने के बाद राज्य भर में सार्वजनिक सभाओं और चुनाव प्रचार पर प्रतिबंध लगाने के स्पष्ट निर्देश संबंधित अधिकारियों को दिये हैं।
उत्तराखंड में शहरी स्थानीय निकाय (यूएलबी) चुनाव के लिए प्रचार मंगलवार शाम पांच बजे समाप्त हो गया। पहाड़ी राज्य में शहरी स्थानीय निकाय चुनाव 23 जनवरी को होंगे जबकि वोटों की गिनती 25 जनवरी को होगी। राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग ने आज चुनाव प्रचार समाप्त होने के बाद राज्य भर में सार्वजनिक सभाओं और चुनाव प्रचार पर प्रतिबंध लगाने के स्पष्ट निर्देश संबंधित अधिकारियों को दिये हैं। राज्य भर में यूएलबी चुनावों में कुल 5404 उम्मीदवार, 11 नगर निगमों में मेयर पदों के लिए 72 उम्मीदवार, नगर पालिकाओं और नगर पंचायतों सहित 83 नगर निकायों के अध्यक्ष पद के लिए 445 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं।
राज्य भर में स्थानीय निकायों के वार्ड पार्षदों और वार्ड सदस्यों के पद के लिए 4888 उम्मीदवार अपनी किस्मत आजमा रहे हैं। 100 शहरी स्थानीय निकायों में विभिन्न पदों के लिए चुनाव होंगे। चुनाव प्रचार थमने के साथ ही उम्मीदवार मतदाताओं को लुभाने के लिए घर-घर जाकर प्रचार कर सकते हैं। यूएलबी चुनाव में करीब 30,29,000 मतदाता वोट डालेंगे. राज्य के विभिन्न हिस्सों में 1515 मतदान केंद्र और 3394 पोलिंग बूथ बनाए गए हैं. राज्य चुनाव आयोग राज्य भर में शांतिपूर्ण मतदान सुनिश्चित करने के लिए 25,800 सुरक्षा कर्मियों और 16,284 सरकारी कर्मचारियों को तैनात करेगा।
आज उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने हरिद्वार के मायापुर में नगर निगम चुनाव में हरिद्वार के भाजपा उम्मीदवारों के पक्ष में तुलसी चौक से हर की पैड़ी तक रोड शो किया। उन्होंने कहा कि पीएम मोदी के नेतृत्व में भारत हर क्षेत्र में प्रगति कर रहा है। उनके नेतृत्व में उत्तराखंड भी विकास कर रहा है, चाहे स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र हो या किसान, अनेक कार्य किये जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि जनता को भाजपा उम्मीदवारों को वोट देना चाहिए और ट्रिपल इंजन सरकार बनानी चाहिए। इस क्षेत्र का विकास करना हमारी सरकार की प्राथमिकता है क्योंकि यह देश का आध्यात्मिक केंद्र है। उत्तराखंड पहला राज्य बनने जा रहा है देश को समान नागरिक संहिता लागू करनी होगी। राज्य कैबिनेट ने इस एक्ट को मंजूरी दे दी है।
