डीडीसीए सचिव अशोक शर्मा ने कहा कि भारतीय विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज ऋषभ पंत ने 23 जनवरी से राजकोट में सौराष्ट्र के खिलाफ शुरू होने वाली दिल्ली के आगामी रणजी ट्रॉफी मैच के लिए खुद को उपलब्ध बताया है। पंत ने पिछली बार 2017-2018 सत्र में रणजी ट्रॉफी में दिल्ली का प्रतिनिधित्व किया था।

नयी दिल्ली । दिल्ली एवं जिला क्रिकेट संघ (डीडीसीए) सचिव अशोक शर्मा ने कहा कि भारतीय विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज ऋषभ पंत ने 23 जनवरी से राजकोट में सौराष्ट्र के खिलाफ शुरू होने वाली दिल्ली के आगामी रणजी ट्रॉफी मैच के लिए खुद को उपलब्ध बताया है। पंत ने पिछली बार 2017-2018 सत्र में रणजी ट्रॉफी में दिल्ली का प्रतिनिधित्व किया था। दिग्गज विराट कोहली की भागीदारी पर हालांकि कोई स्पष्टता नहीं है। कोहली ने अपना पिछला रणजी मैच 2012 में खेला था। भारत के दोनों खिलाड़ियों को शेष सत्र के लिए दिल्ली के संभावित खिलाड़ियों की सूची में शामिल किया है।

अशोक शर्मा ने पीटीआई को बताया, ‘‘हां, पंत ने अगले रणजी मैच के लिए अपनी उपलब्धता की पुष्टि की है और सीधे राजकोट में टीम से जुड़ेंगे। हम चाहते है कि विराट कोहली भी खेलें, लेकिन हमें उनकी प्रतिक्रिया नहीं मिली है। हर्षित राणा को भारतीय टी20 टीम में चुना गया है, इसलिए वह उपलब्ध नहीं होंगे।’’ भारत के पूर्व दिग्गज खिलाड़ी सुनील गावस्कर और रवि शास्त्री उन कई पूर्व खिलाड़ियों में शामिल हैं, जो चाहते हैं कि मौजूदा पीढ़ी खासकर संघर्ष कर रहे रोहित शर्मा और कोहली लाल गेंद प्रारूप में घरेलू क्रिकेट खेलें। 

शुभमन गिल और यशस्वी जयसवाल के भी अपने-अपने राज्य की टीमों के लिए खेलने की उम्मीद है। रोहित ने मंगलवार को मुंबई टीम के साथ अभ्यास कर के काफी दिलचस्पी जगाई, लेकिन यह देखना बाकी है कि क्या वह 23 जनवरी से शुरू होने वाले रणजी ट्रॉफी मैचों के अगले दौर के लिए खुद को उपलब्ध रखेंगे। दिल्ली एवं जिला क्रिकेट संघ (डीडीसीए) द्वारा अपने स्टार खिलाड़ियों को संभावितों की सूची में शामिल करना सामान्य बात है लेकिन अंतिम टीम में शामिल होना उनकी उपलब्धता पर निर्भर है।

रोहित ने खराब फॉर्म के कारण ऑस्ट्रेलिया में अंतिम टेस्ट से खुद को विश्राम दिया था। जबकि कोहली ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौरे पर नौ पारियों में आठ बार विकेट के पीछे (स्लिप या विकेटकीपर) कैच आउट हुए थे। कोहली और पंत के अलावा ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौरे पर गये हर्षित राणा भी 38 संभावित खिलाड़ियों की सूची में शामिल है। दिल्ली को रणजी लीग चरण में दो मैच खेलने हैं। टीम 23 जनवरी को राजकोट में सौराष्ट्र के खिलाफ खेलेगी। दिल्ली की टीम ग्रुप डी में पांच मैचों में 14 अंक के साथ तालिका में चौथे स्थान पर है।
