राहुल ने कहा कि आरएसएस को ईसाइयों पर अपना ध्यान केंद्रित करने में अधिक समय नहीं लगा। संविधान ही एकमात्र ढाल है जो हमारे लोगों को ऐसे हमलों से बचाता है – और इसकी रक्षा करना हमारा सामूहिक कर्तव्य है। कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता रमेश चेन्निथला ने लेख को निंदनीय बताते हुए कहा कि भाजपा का अगला कदम कैथोलिक समुदाय के स्वामित्व वाली संपत्तियों पर नियंत्रण करना है। चेन्निथला ने कहा कि वक्फ बिल के पारित होने के समय, कांग्रेस और राहुल गांधी ने उल्लेख किया था कि अगला कदम ईसाइयों के खिलाफ होगा। ‘ऑर्गनाइजर’ (लेख) में स्पष्ट रूप से उल्लेख किया गया है कि भारत में कैथोलिक समुदाय के पास 7 करोड़ एकड़ जमीन है। अगला कदम कैथोलिक समुदाय के स्वामित्व वाली संपत्तियों पर नियंत्रण करना होगा।

कैथोलिक चर्च बनाम वक्फ बोर्ड बहस’ शीर्षक वाले लेख में आरोप लगाया गया है कि कैथोलिक संस्थाओं के अधीन ज़्यादातर ज़मीन ब्रिटिश शासन के दौरान भारतीय चर्च अधिनियम 1927 के तहत अधिग्रहित की गई थी। इसमें 1965 के सरकारी आदेश का हवाला दिया गया है जिसमें कहा गया था कि औपनिवेशिक काल के दौरान पट्टे पर दी गई ज़मीन को अब चर्च की संपत्ति नहीं माना जाएगा।
