जम्मू-कश्मीर के मशहूर स्की टाउन गुलमर्ग में रमज़ान के पवित्र महीने में आउटडोर फैशन शो आयोजित करने वाले फैशन डिज़ाइनर शिवन और नरेश ने इस कार्यक्रम की मेज़बानी के लिए माफ़ी मांगी है। शो को लेकर काफ़ी विवाद हुआ था। डिज़ाइनरों ने कहा कि रमज़ान के दौरान शो आयोजित किए जाने से लोगों को जो भी दुख पहुंचा है, उसके लिए वे बहुत खेद व्यक्त करते हैं और उनका एकमात्र उद्देश्य रचनात्मकता का जश्न मनाना था। डिजाइनरों ने एक्स पर एक पोस्ट में कहा कि रमज़ान के पवित्र महीने के दौरान गुलमर्ग में हमारी हालिया प्रस्तुति से किसी को हुई ठेस के लिए हम गहरा खेद व्यक्त करते हैं। हमारा एकमात्र उद्देश्य बिना किसी को या किसी धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुँचाने की इच्छा के रचनात्मकता और स्की और एपीआरएस-स्की जीवन शैली का जश्न मनाना था।

उमर अब्दुल्ला ने कहा कि लोगों में गुस्सा बिल्कुल समझ जा सकता है। मैंने जो तस्वीरें देखी हैं, उनमें स्थानीय संवेदनाओं के प्रति पूरी तरह से उपेक्षा दिखाई देती है और वह भी (रमजान के) इस पवित्र महीने के दौरान। जम्मू कश्मीर के मुख्यमंत्री अब्दुल्ला ने कहा कि मेरा कार्यालय स्थानीय अधिकारियों के संपर्क में है और मैंने अगले 24 घंटों के भीतर रिपोर्ट पेश करने के लिए कहा है। इस रिपोर्ट के आधार पर आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी। सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता राजा मुजफ्फर भट ने इस कार्यक्रम को कश्मीर के नैतिक और धार्मिक मूल्यों को नष्ट करने का प्रयास बताया।
