वैसे तो वैलेंटाइन वीक के तीसरे दिन यानी 9 फरवरी को चॉकलेट डे मनाया जाता है। लेकिन यह पूरा हफ्ता रोमांस से भरा है, जिसके तीसरे दिन रिश्ते में मिठास लाने के लिए चॉकलेट डे मनाते हैं। चॉकलेट की मिठास जोड़ने के पीछे एक मजबूत कारण भी है। कई शोध बताते हैं कि चॉकलेट खाने से हमारी लव लाइफ दुरुस्त रहती है। बता दें कि चॉकलेट में थियोब्रोमाइन और कैफीन होते हैं। चॉकलेट खाने से दिमाग में एंडोरफिन रिलीज होता है, जिससे हम आराम महसूस करते हैं।

वैलेंटाइन वीक और चॉकलेट डे के बीच संबंध को लेकर कई इतिहास जुड़े हैं। लेकिन सबसे लोकप्रिय इतिहास जाने-माने चॉकलेट मेकर और समाज सेवी रिचर्ड कैडबरी से जुड़ा हुआ है। साल 1840 में वेलेंटाइन डे को दुनियाभर में लोगों ने जाना। जिसके बाद लोगों ने इस मौके पर अपने दोस्तों और रिश्तेदारों को गिफ्ट के तौर पर फूल और चॉकलेट देना शुरू कर दिया। कहा जाता है कि कैडबरी ने ही चॉकलेट बनाना शुरू किया और चॉकलेट बास्केट के आईडिया को लोगों के सामने पेश किया। जिसके बाद चॉकलेट बास्केट लोगों के प्यार का प्रतीक बन गईं और शुरू हो गया चॉकलेट डे को मनाने का चलन।
