पीडब्ल्यूडी मंत्री सतीश जारकीहोली और सहकारिता मंत्री केएन राजन्ना ने नेतृत्व के मुद्दों पर खुलकर टिप्पणी की। सीएलपी की बैठक के उसी दिन, बैठक में शामिल हुए राजन्ना ने कहा कि अगर वे मुझे पार्टी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष का पद देते हैं, तो मैं इसे स्वीकार करूंगा। मैं अपना मंत्री पद छोड़ने के लिए भी तैयार हूं। प्रतिबंध के आदेश के दो दिन बाद जारकीहोली ने कहा कि निचले स्तर पर काफी चर्चा हो रही है, लेकिन यह शीर्ष स्तर पर होनी चाहिए। यह किसी की जिद का सवाल नहीं है. हमारी एक ही मांग है कि किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति को बनाया जाए जो नौकरी के लिए पूरा समय समर्पित कर सके।
कर्नाटक कांग्रेस के भीतर बढ़ते तनाव को रोकने के लिए, गृह मंत्री जी परमेश्वर ने पुष्टि की कि अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी (एआईसीसी) ने पार्टी सदस्यों को सार्वजनिक रूप से नेतृत्व के मामलों पर चर्चा करने से परहेज करने का निर्देश दिया है। यह निर्देश मुख्यमंत्री सिद्धारमैया और उनके डिप्टी डीके शिवकुमार के समर्थकों के बीच बढ़ते तनाव के बीच 13 जनवरी को आयोजित कांग्रेस विधायक दल (सीएलपी) की बैठक के दौरान दिया गया था, जो कथित तौर पर सत्ता-बंटवारे और कैबिनेट की गतिशीलता को लेकर मतभेद में थे।

उन्होंने पहले के एक संचार की ओर इशारा किया, जिसमें 2024 के लोकसभा चुनावों के बाद नेतृत्व परिवर्तन का सुझाव दिया गया था और कहा बातचीत हुई थी और केसी वेणुगोपाल के हस्ताक्षर के साथ एक नोट भी था कि लोकसभा चुनावों के बाद पद छोड़ना होगा। इसलिए अब वे यह स्पष्ट करने की आवश्यकता है कि क्या वही व्यक्ति जारी रहेगा या क्या उन्हें नेताओं को एक साथ लाना चाहिए और एक नए व्यक्ति पर निर्णय लेना चाहिए। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि ऐसी सार्वजनिक टिप्पणियों को रोकने के इरादे से हाईकमान के प्रतिबंध आदेश का तत्काल कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ा है, जिससे पार्टी नेतृत्व को इसके परिणामों से निपटने के लिए छोड़ दिया गया है।
