राहुल के आरोपों पर भाजपा ने अब पलटवार किया है। बीजेपी सांसद संबित पात्रा ने कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी को धन्यवाद, यह भारत की राजनीति में एक नया निचला स्तर है। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी के कारण – हम यहां उस दिन प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस करने आए हैं जब पूर्व प्रधान मंत्री का अंतिम संस्कार किया गया था।
लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता राहुल गांधी ने शनिवार को भाजपा के नेतृत्व वाली केंद्र सरकार पर पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह का अंतिम संस्कार उनके स्मारक के लिए निर्दिष्ट स्थान के बजाय निगम बोध घाट पर करके उनका अपमान करने का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने कहा कि सिंह देश के सर्वोच्च सम्मान और एक स्मारक के पात्र हैं। राहुल ने एक्स पर लिखा कि भारत माता के महान सपूत और सिख समुदाय के पहले प्रधानमंत्री डॉ मनमोहन सिंह जी का अंतिम संस्कार आज निगमबोध घाट पर करवाकर वर्तमान सरकार द्वारा उनका सरासर अपमान किया गया है।
कांग्रेस नेता ने कहा कि एक दशक के लिए वह भारत के प्रधानमंत्री रहे, उनके दौर में देश आर्थिक महाशक्ति बना और उनकी नीतियां आज भी देश के गरीब और पिछड़े वर्गों का सहारा हैं। उन्होंने आगे लिखा कि आज तक सभी पूर्व प्रधानमंत्रियों की गरिमा का आदर करते हुए उनके अंतिम संस्कार अधिकृत समाधि स्थलों में किए गए ताकि हर व्यक्ति बिना किसी असुविधा के अंतिम दर्शन कर श्रद्धांजलि दे पाए। राहुल ने साफ तौर पर कहा कि डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह हमारे सर्वोच्च सम्मान और समाधि स्थल के हकदार हैं। सरकार को देश के इस महान पुत्र और उनकी गौरवशाली कौम के प्रति आदर दिखाना चाहिए था।

पात्रा ने कहा कि हमने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह के निधन के बाद एक कैबिनेट बैठक में निर्णय लिया कि चूंकि वह प्रधानमंत्री थे और उनका कद बड़ा था, इसलिए कैबिनेट ने कांग्रेस और डॉ. सिंह के परिवार को एक पत्र लिखा, जिसमें कैबिनेट ने कहा कि हमें उनके नाम पर एक स्मारक बनाना चाहिए ताकि देश और दुनिया उन्हें उनके सकारात्मक कार्यों के लिए याद रखे। उन्होंने कहा कि स्मारक बनाने की एक प्रक्रिया होती है लेकिन दाह संस्कार एक ऐसी प्रक्रिया है जिसके लिए इंतजार नहीं किया जा सकता। यह एक सीधा संवाद था जिसे हमारी पार्टी ने आगे बढ़ाया था। लेकिन, उसके बाद कांग्रेस ने जिस तरह की राजनीति की, वह दुख के दिन नहीं करनी चाहिए थी। मैं कांग्रेस और उसके समर्थकों को बताना चाहता हूं जो पद पर रहते हुए बेतुकी बातें कह रहे हैं अगर किसी ने पूर्व पीएम मनमोहन सिंह की गरिमा को नुकसान पहुंचाया है – तो वह कांग्रेस पार्टी है।
