विश्व हिंदू परिषद (वीएचपी) सरकारी नियंत्रण से मंदिरों की मुक्ति की वकालत करने के लिए “जागरण अभियान” नामक एक अभियान शुरू कर रही है। वीएचपी के राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता विनोद बंसल ने इस बात की जानकारी दी है। उन्होंने कहा कि मंदिर को नियंत्रण मुक्त करना समय की मांग है। विहिप पिछले कई दशकों से यह मांग उठाती रही है। जब कोई मस्जिद, मदरसा, मजार या चर्च उनके (सरकार के) नियंत्रण में नहीं है, तो यह भेदभाव केवल मंदिरों के साथ ही क्यों है? 

विनोद बंसल ने आगे कहा कि इन सबको लेकर समाज में गहरा आक्रोश है। इसलिए, विहिप ने इन मंदिरों की मुक्ति के लिए एक अभियान, जागरण अभियान शुरू करने का निर्णय लिया। हमारे संगठन के महासचिव शाम को प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस करने वाले हैं, जिसमें बताएंगे कि इसका स्वरूप क्या होगा और कैसे किया जाएगा। बंसल ने यह भी उल्लेख किया कि विहिप पदाधिकारियों ने हाल ही में विभिन्न राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों और विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों के नेताओं से मुलाकात कर इस मुद्दे पर समर्थन का अनुरोध किया है।

इससे पहले, विहिप ने अपना “सांसद संपर्क अभियान” चलाया, जिसके दौरान उसने मंदिरों की मुक्ति, वक्फ संशोधन विधेयक और हिंदू समाज के लिए विशेषाधिकारों के विस्तार सहित विभिन्न प्रमुख मुद्दों पर चर्चा करने के लिए 350 से अधिक सांसदों से मुलाकात की। विश्व हिंदू परिषद ने संसद के शीतकालीन सत्र के दौरान चलाए गए अपने वार्षिक सांसद संपर्क अभियान में अब तक 350 से अधिक सांसदों से संपर्क किया है और हिंदू समाज से संबंधित तीन अलग-अलग विषयों पर चर्चा की है।

समाजवादी पार्टी के सांसद अवधेश प्रसाद ने इस पर पलटवार करते हुए कहा कि बीजेपी तरह-तरह के विषयों के जरिए अपनी नाकामियों से लोगों का ध्यान भटकाने की कोशिश कर रही है। हजारों किसानों को दिल्ली बॉर्डर पर रोक दिया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि महंगाई का मुद्दा है। कई पढ़े-लिखे युवा बेरोजगार हैं। आरक्षण है संविधान निर्माण के 75 साल बाद भी नहीं दिया गया। सरकारी संस्थानों को निजी कंपनियों को बेचा जा रहा है। संभल मुद्दे पर चर्चा नहीं हो रही है। इन सभी विषयों पर चर्चा से बचने के लिए उन्होंने (भाजपा और विहिप) इसे उठाया है।
