सीडीएस अनिल चौहान ने झारखंड में सेना में भाई-भतीजावाद से इनकार करते हुए काबिलियत को ही पहचान का आधार बताया। उन्होंने ऑपरेशन सिंदूर का जिक्र किया, जो पाकिस्तान के हमलों के जवाब में नौ आतंकी ठिकानों पर किया गया एक महत्वपूर्ण संयुक्त सैन्य हमला था। यह दो परमाणु शक्तियों के बीच संघर्ष का एक अनूठा उदाहरण भी था, जिसमें सटीक हमलों के लिए विशेष प्रयास किए गए।
चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ जनरल अनिल चौहान ने गुरुवार को रांची में बताया कि ऑपरेशन सिंदूर का पहला हमला 7 मई को सुबह 1 बजे नागरिकों को हताहत होने से बचाने के लिए किया गया था। 22 अप्रैल को पहलगाम में पाकिस्तान द्वारा किए गए घातक आतंकवादी हमलों के जवाब में, 7 मई को भारत ने एक संयुक्त सैन्य हमला ऑपरेशन सिंदूर पाकिस्तान और पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर (पीओके) में नौ आतंकवादी ठिकानों को निशाना बनाकर किया।

इसके साथ ही अनिल चौहान ने कहा कि मैं एक बहुत ही साधारण परिवार से आया हूँ… सशस्त्र बलों में कोई भाई-भतीजावाद नहीं है। आपको आपके काम के लिए पहचान मिलती है। सीडीएस चौहान की यह टिप्पणी इस प्रतिष्ठित ऑपरेशन के लगभग पाँच महीने बाद आई है। उन्होंने यह टिप्पणी गुरुवार, 18 सितंबर को झारखंड के रांची में स्कूली बच्चों के साथ बातचीत के दौरान की। ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के दौरान किए गए सटीक हमलों का ज़िक्र करते हुए, सीडीएस अनिल चौहान ने कहा कि रात के समय लंबी दूरी के लक्ष्यों पर किए गए हमलों के लिए “विशेष प्रयासों” की आवश्यकता होती है।

चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ ने कहा कि यदि आप राष्ट्र की सेवा करना चाहते हैं और देश-दुनिया की यात्रा करना चाहते हैं, तो आपको सशस्त्र बलों में शामिल होने की इच्छा रखनी चाहिए। इससे पहले उन्होंने अपने एक संबोधन में कहा था कि आधुनिक संघर्ष ने यह दर्शाया है कि ख़तरा किसी भी स्तर पर उत्पन्न हो सकता है और तेज़ी से बढ़ सकता है, जिसके लिए कड़ी तैयारी और क्षमता निर्माण आवश्यक है। संघर्ष के क्षेत्र में, परमाणु संघर्ष ख़तरे के क्षेत्र के सबसे अंतिम छोर पर है। मेरी समझ यह है कि परमाणु हथियार युद्ध नहीं, बल्कि निवारण के साधन हैं। हाल ही में, भारत ने भी कहा है कि वह परमाणु ब्लैकमेल से नहीं डरेगा… ऑपरेशन सिंदूर दो परमाणु संपन्न देशों के बीच संघर्ष का एकमात्र उदाहरण है।
