खीर भवानी मेला कश्मीरी पंडित समुदाय के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण वार्षिक धार्मिक उत्सव है। यह गंदेरबल जिले के तुल्ला मुल्ला गांव में खीर भवानी मंदिर में आयोजित किया जाता है। यह मंदिर देवी दुर्गा के एक रूप देवी रागन्या देवी को समर्पित है और इसे कश्मीरी हिंदुओं के लिए सबसे पवित्र स्थलों में से एक माना जाता है।
नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के प्रमुख फारूक अब्दुल्ला ने मंगलवार को खीर भवानी मेला और हजरत मीर सैयद अली हमदानी के उर्स दोनों के जश्न का स्वागत किया और इसे कश्मीर में सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव का प्रतीक बताया। उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय प्रगति के लिए एकता के महत्व पर जोर दिया। एएनआई से बात करते हुए फारूक अब्दुल्ला ने कहा कि यह खुशी की बात है कि खीर भवानी का मेला और हजरत मीर सैयद अली हमदानी का उर्स आज मनाया जा रहा है। घाटी में हमेशा भाईचारा रहा है। हम इस भाईचारे को पूरे देश में देखना चाहते हैं। अगर हम एकजुट रहेंगे, तो हम तरक्की करेंगे।

अब्दुल्ला ने एएनआई से कहा कि हमें कटरा में माता वैष्णो देवी के दर्शन करने जाना चाहिए और लोगों से वहां जाने की अपील करनी चाहिए। माता वैष्णो देवी के दर्शन करने वालों की संख्या में कमी आई है। हाल ही में हुए युद्ध की त्रासदी के बाद लोग डरे हुए हैं। पहलगाम की घटना का असर पूरे देश में देखने को मिला। इससे पहले अब्दुल्ला ने पर्यटकों से जम्मू-कश्मीर लौटने का आग्रह किया था और इस बात पर जोर दिया था कि यह क्षेत्र हिंसा नहीं बल्कि शांति चाहता है।
उन्होंने पहलगाम जैसे स्थानों पर पर्यटन और लोगों की आजीविका पर आतंकवादी हमलों के नकारात्मक प्रभाव पर चिंता व्यक्त की, खासकर वार्षिक अमरनाथ यात्रा से पहले। पहलगाम में एएनआई से बात करते हुए अब्दुल्ला ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री ने (विभिन्न देशों में) प्रतिनिधिमंडल भेजे हैं। वे यह संदेश दें कि हम शांति चाहते हैं और हम युद्ध के पक्ष में नहीं हैं… निर्दोष लोगों की हत्या बंद होनी चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि 22 अप्रैल के बर्बर हमले के कारण स्थानीय अर्थव्यवस्था, विशेषकर पहलगाम में नुकसान हुआ है।
