इसके बाद सलमान खुर्शीद मीडिया से बातचीत में भी बड़ा बयान दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि लोग कहते रहते हैं, ‘आप ऐसे प्रतिनिधिमंडल में क्या कर रहे हैं, जिसमें भाजपा के लोग हैं। आप वहां क्या कर रहे हैं?’ उन्होंने कहा कि हम यहां क्या कर रहे हैं? हम यहां वही कर रहे हैं, जो देश के लिए जरूरी है। चाहे आप किसी भी पार्टी से हों, आज जरूरत है कि देश के पक्ष में बोलने के लिए एक आवाज हो और हम यहां वही कर रहे हैं। मुझे लगता है कि जब मैं कहता हूं कि क्या देशभक्त होना इतना मुश्किल है? यह सवाल उन लोगों से पूछा जाना चाहिए जो ट्वीट कर रहे हैं और ऐसी बातें कह रहे हैं जो मुझे लगता है कि देश के लिए कुछ करने के लिए बहुत उत्साहजनक नहीं हैं।
कांग्रेस नेता सलमान खुर्शीद ने कहा कि लोग कह रहे हैं कि वह (सलमान खुर्शीद) फलां का समर्थन कर रहे हैं और फलां का नहीं; वे सरकार का समर्थन कर रहे हैं, आदि। क्या मैं यहां भारत सरकार का विरोध करने आया हूं? अगर मुझे ऐसा करना होता तो मैं घर पर ही रहता। उन्होंने कहा कि मैं यहां भारत के लिए बोलने आया हूं, जो कोई भी भारत के लिए बोलता है और जिस भी तरीके से वह भारत के लिए बोलता है, भारत के लिए जो भी कहा जाता है, हम उसका समर्थन करने के लिए यहां हैं। यह केवल 10-12 दिनों की छोटी अवधि है, फिर आपको घर वापस जाना होगा और घर पर जो करना है, वह करना होगा। लेकिन मैं यहां सबसे पहले भारत के लिए हूं, भारत और केवल भारत के लिए।
