महाराष्ट्र की मंत्री पंकजा मुंडे ने बृहस्पतिवार को कहा कि सरकार को मराठा आरक्षण आंदोलनकारी मनोज जरांगे की मांगों पर सहानुभूतिपूर्वक विचार करना चाहिए।

जालना में महाराष्ट्र दिवस के आधिकारिक कार्यक्रम के बाद भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) नेता पत्रकारों से बात कर रही थी।
मराठा समुदाय को सरकारी नौकरियों और शिक्षा में आरक्षण दिए जाने की मांग पर जोर देने के लिए जरांगे ने 29 अगस्त से फिर नए सिरे से भूख हड़ताल शुरू करने की घोषणा की।

मुंडे ने पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए कहा, ‘‘सरकार को जरांगे की मांगों पर सहानुभूतिपूर्वक विचार करना चाहिए। जैसा कि मैं हमेशा कहता हूं, उन्हें (मराठा समुदाय को) कानूनी दायरे में न्याय मिलना चाहिए।’’

अगली जनगणना में जाति गणना को शामिल करने के केंद्र सरकार के फैसले के बारे में अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग (ओबीसी) नेता ने कहा, ‘‘मैं नरेन्द्र मोदी सरकार को कई बार धन्यवाद और बधाई दूंगी, क्योंकि इस फैसले का लंबे समय से इंतजार था। मुझे अपने पिता दिवंगत गोपीनाथ मुंडे का एक भाषण याद है, जिसमें उन्होंने कहा था कि जाति जनगणना से समाज की सही तस्वीर सामने आएगी।
