केंद्र सरकार ने बुधवार को घोषणा की कि जाति आधारित गणना आगामी दशकीय जनगणना का हिस्सा होगी। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में राजनीतिक मामलों की उच्चस्तरीय कैबिनेट समिति की बैठक में यह निर्णय लिया गया। इसको लेकर केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने एक्स पर लिखा कि सामाजिक न्याय के लिए संकल्पित मोदी सरकार ने आज एक ऐतिहासिक निर्णय लिया है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में आज हुई CCPA की बैठक में, आगामी जनगणना में जातिगत गणना को शामिल करने का निर्णय लेकर सामाजिक समानता और हर वर्ग के अधिकारों के प्रति मजबूत प्रतिबद्धता का संदेश दिया गया है।

उन्होंने आगे कहा कि जाति जनगणना कराने से विभिन्न वर्गों के लोगों की संख्या का पता चलेगा जिससे उनके उत्थान एवं विकास के लिए योजनाएँ बनाने में सहूलियत होगी। इससे देश के विकास को गति मिलेगी। जाति जनगणना कराने के फैसले के लिए माननीय प्रधानमंत्री आदरणीय श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी का अभिनंदन तथा धन्यवाद। केंद्रीय मंत्री चिराग पासवान ने कहा कि यह बहुत बड़ा और ऐतिहासिक फैसला है और इसके लिए मैं अपनी पार्टी लोक जनशक्ति (रामविलास) की ओर से अपने पीएम को धन्यवाद देता हूं। आज मेरे पीएम ने हमारी मांग पूरी की है जो लंबे समय से लंबित थी। लोग अक्सर कहते थे कि लोजपा और भाजपा दो अलग-अलग रास्तों पर हैं।
यूपी के उपमुख्यमंत्री केपी मरिया ने कहा, “केवल पीएम मोदी के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार ही यह निर्णय ले सकती थी; मैं इसका स्वागत करता हूं… यह निर्णय साबित करता है कि भाजपा काम करती है और परिणाम देती है।” छत्तीसगढ़ के सीएम विष्णु देव साय ने कहा, “अगर केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने यह फैसला लिया है, तो इसका संचालन किया जाएगा।” बिहार के उपमुख्यमंत्री सम्राट चौधरी ने कहा, “मैं नरेंद्र मोदी जी को धन्यवाद और बधाई देता हूं जिन्होंने राष्ट्रीय जनगणना में जाति जनगणना को शामिल करने का फैसला किया है।”
