एक नई पहल के अनुसार, दिल्ली पुलिस ऐसे छात्रों को बेहतर करियर के लिए परामर्श और सहायता प्रदान करने की संभावना है। दिल्ली सरकार ने शिक्षा विभाग को शहर के सरकारी स्कूलों से पढ़ाई छोड़ने वालों की पहचान करने के लिए एक मानक संचालन प्रक्रिया (एसओपी) तैयार करने का निर्देश दिया है।

अपराध पर लगाम लगाने और ऐसे छात्रों की मदद करने के लिए एक नई पहल के अनुसार, दिल्ली पुलिस जल्द ही घर पर स्कूल छोड़ने वाले छात्रों की तलाश में आपके दरवाजे तक पहुँच सकती है। एक नई पहल के अनुसार, दिल्ली पुलिस ऐसे छात्रों को बेहतर करियर के लिए परामर्श और सहायता प्रदान करने की संभावना है। दिल्ली सरकार ने शिक्षा विभाग को शहर के सरकारी स्कूलों से पढ़ाई छोड़ने वालों की पहचान करने के लिए एक मानक संचालन प्रक्रिया (एसओपी) तैयार करने का निर्देश दिया है।

इसके बाद यह डेटा हर छह महीने में दिल्ली पुलिस के साथ साझा किया जाएगा, जिसके बाद पुलिस उन बच्चों के दरवाजे खटखटाएगी जो स्कूल छोड़ चुके हैं और निर्णय के पीछे का कारण और उनके आगे क्या है, इसके बारे में पूछताछ करेगी और तदनुसार परामर्श और कैरियर मार्गदर्शन प्रदान करेगी। अधिकारियों का लक्ष्य ऐसे बच्चों की पहचान करना है ताकि उन्हें किसी भी आपराधिक गतिविधि में शामिल होने से रोका जा सके।  

स्कूल छोड़ने के बाद, कई छात्रों ने संभवतः काम करना शुरू कर दिया या शहर से दूर चले गए। हालांकि, अगर कोई बेकार पाया जाता है, तो पुलिस उन्हें खोजने, परामर्श देने और बेहतर करियर के अवसरों की ओर मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए उपलब्ध डेटा का उपयोग करेगी, रिपोर्ट में एक पुलिस अधिकारी का हवाला दिया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले साल अपराध में शामिल 85 प्रतिशत लोग पहली बार अपराध करने वाले थे।

अधिकारी ने बताया कि दिल्ली के मुख्य सचिव धर्मेंद्र ने इस महीने की शुरुआत में समन्वय समिति की बैठक के दौरान शिक्षा विभाग को निर्देश जारी किए थे। दिल्ली में नई भाजपा सरकार द्वारा गठित यह समिति गृह मामलों, पुलिसिंग और कानून व्यवस्था से संबंधित मामलों की देखरेख करती है। अधिकारी ने बताया कि 4 अप्रैल की बैठक के दौरान दो पहलुओं पर चर्चा की गई: दिल्ली पुलिस को स्कूल छोड़ने वालों की सूची उपलब्ध कराना और शहर में नशा विरोधी क्लब और लड़कों के क्लब स्थापित करना।
