उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने प्रयागराज के अरैल घाट पर स्वच्छता अभियान में भाग लिया। यह पहल स्वच्छ भारत अभियान को बढ़ावा देने और प्रमुख धार्मिक और सार्वजनिक स्थलों पर स्वच्छता बनाए रखने के राज्य के चल रहे प्रयासों का हिस्सा थी। अभियान के दौरान, सीएम योगी ने अधिकारियों और स्वयंसेवकों के साथ, पर्यावरण को स्वच्छ रखने में सार्वजनिक भागीदारी के महत्व पर जोर देते हुए, घाट क्षेत्र की सफाई की। उन्होंने नागरिकों से स्वच्छता को दैनिक अभ्यास के रूप में अपनाने और नदी तटों और तीर्थ स्थलों का संरक्षण सुनिश्चित करने का भी आग्रह किया।

प्रयागराज में 45 दिनों तक विश्व का सबसे बड़ा धार्मिक एवं आध्यात्मिक समागम-महाकुंभ बुधवार को अंतिम स्नान पर्व महाशिवरात्रि के साथ संपन्न हो गया। तेरह जनवरी से प्रारंभ हुए इस मेले में देश विदेश से 66.30 करोड़ श्रद्धालुओं ने गंगा और संगम में डुबकी लगाई। मेला प्रशासन द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, बुधवार को शाम आठ बजे तक 1.53 करोड़ से अधिक श्रद्धालुओं ने गंगा और संगम में डुबकी लगाई तथा 13 जनवरी से बुधवार शाम आठ बजे तक स्नान करने वालों की संख्या 66.30 करोड़ पहुंच गई।
श्रद्धालुओं की यह संख्या चीन और भारत को छोड़कर अमेरिका, रूस और यूरोपीय देशों समेत सभी देशों की आबादी से अधिक है। साथ ही यह मक्का और वेटिकन सिटी जाने वाले श्रद्धालुओं से भी अधिक है। महाकुंभ अपनी स्वच्छता को लेकर भी चर्चा में रहा जिसमें स्वच्छता कर्मियों की अहम भूमिका रही। महाकुंभ मेले में स्वच्छता प्रभारी डाक्टर आनंद सिंह ने बताया कि पूरे मेले में 15,000 स्वच्छताकर्मी चौबीसों घंटे ड्यूटी पर तैनात रहे। कई पालियों में उन्होंने साफ सफाई की जिम्मेदारी बखूबी निभाई और मेले में शौचालयों और घाटों को पूरी तरह से साफ रखा।
