तमिलनाडु के करूर में शनिवार शाम अभिनेता और राजनेता विजय की रैली में मची भीषण भगदड़ में 10 बच्चों और 16 महिलाओं सहित 39 लोगों की दुखद मौत हो गई। इस बड़ी त्रासदी के बाद चेन्नई में विजय के आवास के बाहर सुरक्षा कड़ी कर दी गई है। विजय ने घटना पर गहरा दुख जताते हुए पीड़ितों की मदद के लिए सहायता राशि देने की घोषणा भी की है।
भगदड़ पर क्या बोले मुख्यमंत्री स्टालिन?
तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एम. के. स्टालिन ने इस घटना को राज्य की हाल की सबसे बुरी त्रासदियों में से एक बताते हुए, मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय की सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश अरुणा जगदीशन के नेतृत्व में न्यायिक जाँच आयोग के गठन की घोषणा की है। मुख्यमंत्री ने स्थिति की समीक्षा के लिए चेन्नई में वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ एक आपात बैठक भी की।

तमिलगा वेत्री कझगम के प्रमुख विजय ने एक बयान जारी कर इस घटना पर गहरा दुख व्यक्त किया। विजय ने कहा कि करूर में जो हुआ, उसे सोचकर उनका दिल और दिमाग गहरे भारीपन से भरा है। उन्होंने कहा कि अपनों को खोने के अपार दुःख को बयां करने के लिए उनके पास शब्द नहीं हैं। उन्होंने सभी प्रभावित परिवारों के प्रति गहरी संवेदना व्यक्त की और इसे अपूर्णीय क्षति बताया।
पीड़ितों की मदद के लिए, विजय ने घोषणा की कि वह मृतकों के परिवारों को 20 लाख रुपये और घायलों को 2 लाख रुपये की सहायता राशि देंगे। उन्होंने यह भी आश्वासन दिया कि उनका तमिलगा वेत्री कझगम संगठन इलाज करा रहे घायलों को हर संभव सहायता प्रदान करेगा।

भगदड़ शाम करीब 7:30 बजे मची। यह तब हुआ जब दोपहर से ही विजय का इंतजार कर रहे हजारों लोग उनके प्रचार वाहन से संबोधन के दौरान आगे बढ़ने लगे। बताया गया है कि कई लोग घंटों धूप में इंतजार करने के कारण गर्मी, निर्जलीकरण और घुटन से बेहोश हो गए थे। घटनास्थल के वीडियो में लोग भगदड़ से बचने के लिए झोपड़ियों की छतों पर भागते और बाहर निकलते हुए दिखाई दिए।
