प्रधान मंत्री मार्क कार्नी के नेतृत्व वाली कनाडाई सरकार इस वर्ष 15-17 जून को अल्बर्टा के कनानैस्किस रिसॉर्ट में जी7 शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी करने वाली है। भारत दुनिया की 5 वीं सबसे बड़ी इकॉनमी है, ग्लोबल ग्रोथ में उसकी एक भूमिका है। भारत दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा लोकतंत्र भी है। इसी वजह से पिछले कुछ वर्षों से उसे अमीर देशों के इस मंच पर जगह मिलती आई है।
शांति, अंतरराष्ट्रीय सहयोग और समन्वित विकास का संदेश
भारत साल 2019 से लगातार इस आयोजन का हिस्सा रहा है। फ्रांस से यह सिलसिला शुरू हुआ था, जो पिछले साल इटली तक जारी रहा। इटली में विशेष सत्र को संबोधित करते हुए पीएम मोदी ने सामाजिक असमानता को दूर करने और सभी के लिए सहज उपलब्ध व सुरक्षित आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस जैसे महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर बात की थी। भारत इस मंच का इस्तेमाल शांति, अंतरराष्ट्रीय सहयोग और समन्वित विकास का संदेश देने के लिए करता है।
ट्रूडो से अलग कार्नी
मार्क कार्नी का कार्यकाल इस उम्मीद के साथ शुरू हुआ है कि भारत और कनाडा के रिश्तों पर जमी बर्फ पिघल सकती है। अपने पूर्ववर्ती जस्टिन टूडो के मुकाबले उन्होंने ज्यादा जिम्मेदार और सकारात्मक रवैया दिखाया। चुनावी अभियान के दौरान उन्होंने माना था कि दोनों देशों के संबंध कई स्तरों पर महत्वपूर्ण हैं और समान विचारधारा वाले देशों के साथ व्यापारिक संबंधों में विविधता लाने की बात कही थी। पिछले हफ्ते जब विदेश मंत्री जयशंकर ने कनाडा की समकक्ष मंत्री अनीता आनंद से बात की, तो उसे भी अहम बदलाव माना गया था।
